Eastern Redbud at Riverside

We made a few trips this week to Riverside Park in Ottawa County.
The Eastern Redbud are blooming beautifully!  Especially nice if there is sunshine and blue sky.

Eastern Redbud (Cercis canadensis L.) is a large shrub or small tree native to eastern North America from Southern Ontario, Canada south to northern Florida, United States.

Of course we saw other things too...
 Wild Geranium (Geranium maculatum)

 A buttercup,

Maybe a Cherry of some sort,

Marsh with the evening sun

Large patches of Purple Dead Nettle

 Grand River

The moon

Until next time...

  5. New Hampshire Gardener, Thank you! I'm thinking of planting Redbud trees in our yard. I need to do research on how to grow them. They are beautiful and native to our area. :)

  8. Those Redbuds are an amazingly deep red! Most of the ones I have seen are more lavender than scarlet.
