Aman Park May 4 2022

Here is a look at Aman Park Wednesday May 4, 2022.  We have had several cool, rainy days but today was forecast for sunny, warmer, and no rain.  Betsy and I walked 3.5 miles at Aman Park, and it was a perfect day.   Here is some of what we saw!

Great Day!

Thanks, Pink.

  1. Beautiful Trout Lillies! There is a white flower here that I don't know. It's not the Dutchman's Breeches or the Trillium. It has a leaf that reminds me of Columbine. Can you educate me?

  2. Thanks Sister in the Mid-west, the Trout Lily was in its prime. The white flower is an anemone, False Rue Anemone.

  4. Sister in the mid- West, I’m not positive it is False Rue-Anemone, it is an anemone. Some characteristics overlap in anemones, such as the number of petals. I like trying to remember the names of these plants each year.

  5. Thanks Chuck, it was a nice day, probably good for planting trees! Have you checked on your Trailing Arbutus at Happy Days?

  6. Wow! It's a good year for trilliums there, and trout lilies too! I went looking for trout lilies today and found only three or four blooming where there used to be hundreds. You're so lucky to have places where large numbers of wildflowers grow like this. I can't think of anywhere here that I can see anything like it. It's very beautiful.
I appreciate you showing them. I know it's a bit of a drive for you.
    So thank you!

  7. Thanks, Allen. The trout Lily were in their prime, and I think the trillium might be even better next week. I took pictures of the ground just because there are so many different plants growing in every square inch! It really is amazing.
Our weather has been cool and wet, now we are about to warm up, so at least another trip (or two) to Aman, which is a 50 drive round trip from my home. I’m still waiting to see wild geranium and Columbine.

  8. That is a long drive but when I think about it, I did that many miles every day to and from work. And I don't miss them at all, so I do appreciate you making the effort and taking the time. There are few places I've seen that are as beautiful!

  9. It was a perfect day, temperature, no bugs, and good patient company to walk with. It sounds like our weather is about to get warm, so that will mean more bugs. I’m just glad I can be outside.
It’s nice that you don’t have to drive everyday for work, now it can be an everyday drive for a new adventure!
