2025 Autumn Colors in Michigan

 Michigan has had beautiful fall colors all the way into November this year.  Here are some parks and places we visited this Fall.

Tulip Tree

The leaves started to change color here around the middle of October.  The trees held their leaves a long time.  

Most mornings I have been riding my bike around the neighborhood. Every day I pedaled past the most colorful tree.  Finally, one day I stopped and took a picture.

Kirk Park and Rosy Mound Natural Area, Ottawa County Michigan. November 1 and 2, 2021

 Both of these parks are along the shores of Lake Michigan, which means there are lots of stairs over forested dunes to get to the big Lake.  First Kirk Park.  I went here November 1, I counted 466 steps over the wooded dune.  Some of the stairs were eroded away last year with high Lake Michigan water levels.

The next day I met my daughter at Rosy Mound Natural Area.  We walked all the trails and stairs!  It was a wonderful walk.

Hofma Preserve Grand Haven Michigan. October 2021

 A walk at Hofma Preserve in Grand Haven Township 

This is the park I walk at most often.  It is close to home, it has woods, water, lots of trails. 

Hofma Preserve has 446 acres with approximately 4.5 miles of trails, an 885 foot floating bridge, 17 space parking area and a restroom.

Hofma Park has 120 acres with 1 shelter, a restroom, a soccer field, 78 space parking area, a softball field and a developed playground.
