Crockery Creek Natural Area - Ottawa County Michigan

October 28 2019  The morning was foggy to start, the sun came out and cleared the fog.  The first picture was taken when we arrived, the second picture was about an hour later.

Each and every year I totally enjoy the Fall colors!  This has been a good year for those colors, lasting from the end of September right through to the end of October.  Even on rainy days the bright yellow leaves, still on the trees and the ones already on the ground, light up the trail.  It really is amazing.

Crockery Creek Natural Area is owned by Ottawa County.  The 331-acre natural area includes frontage on both the Grand River and Crockery Creek.  About two miles of hiking and cross-country ski trails meander along the creek, mature wooded ridges, floodplain forest, open hardwoods, wet meadows and buttonbush swamps.

Thank you Allen, the leaves are still beautiful but today we have had a bit of wet snow. So far it isn’t sticking to the ground.

Marie, thanks for taking me on all of the walks. We have certainly seen lots of pretty places in the last 13 years of our weekly adventures!
