Pine Island Drive Bridge in Michigan

Pine Island Drive Bridge in  Kent County, Michigan over the Rogue River is in the news.
From news source MLive-"'Ornate' Kent County bridge approved for Michigan historical marker may be last of its kind."

It is a great bridge and your photos really show it off. The web site historicbridges.org has documented a lot of interesting bridges. M :)

Interesting bridge. I don't think I've ever seen another one like it. The concrete bridges we have here are mostly crunbling away and are slowly being replaced.

M :-) Have we been to this bridge only once?
I know we have been across it a few times but have we only stopped at it once?
I should have mentioned that the historical bridge site is for all the USA.
Thanks for stopping by the blog.

New Hampshire Gardener,
On the historical bridges website I see 5 counties listed for New Hampshire.
What amazes me is this Pine Island bridge was built in 1924, and at that time people put so much time, money, and thought, into this bridge. It is in a rural part of the Kent County, so it is not a show piece for the city of Grand Rapids.
Many of the old bridges in Michigan are replaced with concrete slabs.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
